And well, this year alone, some of the most prominent music artists in the world have very highly anticipated tours, Taylor Swift fans have had to fight tooth and nail for tickets to her Eras tour.
People who truly love music and the culture around big music tours and concerts are indeed happy about the return of such events. However, during a period of financial hardship almost worldwide, many will want to snag the best deals they can to see their favourite performers.
As such, we have researched the most anticipated upcoming tours this year to see which artists are the most consistently priced and which countries tend to be cheaper to see concerts. We’ve also looked at the prices of artists performing in Las Vegas residency tours to see which ones are the most expensive, and compared general admissions to VIP tickets.

The Most Consistently Priced Artists on Tour
1. Pixies/Modest Mouse
Price Difference of Lowest vs Highest General Admission Ticket Price: $2.14 | £1.69
The artists with the most consistently priced tour tickets in 2023 are Pixies and Modest Mouse, who are co-headlining their summer 2023 tour. The trio will be touring North America and the average price difference from the lowest to highest ticket prices is around £1.69, which is a rather negligible amount.
2. The Cure

The Cure, an English rock band, has the second most consistently priced tour tickets of 2023. Their Shows of a Lost World Tour can be seen for as little as £52.33, with the difference between their most and least expensive tickets for general admission being just £3.44.
3. Mastodon/Gojira
Price Difference of Lowest vs Highest General Admission Ticket Price: $10.86 | £8.59
Teaming up for the Mega-Monsters tour in 2023, Mastodon and Gojira are the third-most consistently priced act on tour this year. The two metal bands’ tour has a price difference of just £8.59 between their highest and lowest-priced tickets.
The Least Consistently Priced Artists on Tour
1. Madonna

The least consistently priced music artist of 2023 is Madonna, who has her upcoming Celebration Tour. The Queen of Pop’s tour ticket prices can have a difference of around £232.11 on average, just for a general admission ticket.
2. Coldplay
Price Difference of Lowest vs Highest General Admission Ticket Price: $241.87 | £191.33
The British rock band Coldplay emerges as the second-least consistently priced act on tour in 2023. Their Music of the Spheres world tour has a price difference of around £191.33 on average.
3. Blink-182
Price Difference of Lowest vs Highest General Admission Ticket Price: $216.58 | £171.33
Another rock band, this time of American origin, Blink-182 are the third-least consistently priced band on tour for 2023. Their world tour will take them to a range of countries, and the price difference between the highest and lowest general admission ticket prices was around £171.33, on average.
Most Affordable Countries to See Music Tours
1. Ireland
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $58.06 | £45.91
The European country of Ireland comes out as the most affordable location in which to see music tours this year. On average, looking at the upcoming tours for this year, it will cost you around £45.91 for a general admission ticket. Arctic Monkeys and The Walkmen are amongst the artists with tours in this country in 2023.
2. Norway
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $66.75 | £52.78
Norway, one of the Scandinavian countries, is the second most affordable location for music tours this year. For a general admission ticket, on average, you’ll be looking to pay around £52.78. Blink-182’s world tour is making a stop in Norway, as well as Depeche Mode.
3. Denmark
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $82.48 | £65.22
The second Scandinavian country in this top three ranking, we have Denmark, the third most affordable location for music tours in 2023. On average, for a general admission ticket, you’re likely to pay around £65.22. Some of the artists with tours in the country this year include Coldplay, Madonna and Bruce Springsteen.
Least Affordable Countries to See Music Tours
1. Spain
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $176.96 | £139.93
Spain is the least affordable country to see music tours in 2023, with the average cost of a general admission ticket likely to set you back around £139.93. With the likes of Harry Styles, Blink-182 and Madonna having tours in the country in 2023.
2. Poland
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $161.80 | £127.94
Poland has some heavy hitters with music tours in 2023, with Beyonce and Harry Styles making stops in the country. However, it is one of the least affordable countries, with tickets costing an average of £127.94.
3. Italy
Average Ticket Price for General Admission: $151.95 | £120.15
Italy is the third least affordable country for music tours in 2023, with acts such as Harry Styles, Madonna and Arctic Monkeys all having tour dates here. On average, a general admissions ticket can cost around £120.15.
The Most Affordable Las Vegas Residencies (General Admission)
1. Barry Manilow
Average Ticket Price for General Admissions: $54.99 | £43.20
Barry Manilow, the American singer with a career that spans seven whole decades, has the most affordable Las Vegas residency for general admission tickets. On average, his tickets cost £43.20, which is much lower than those at the upper end of the spectrum.
2. Donny Osmond
Average Ticket Price for General Admissions: $70.00 | £54.99
Donny Osmond shares second place, having one of the most affordable residencies in Las Vegas. For general admission, his tickets cost an average of just £54.99.
3. Rod Stewart
Average Ticket Price for General Admissions: $70.00 | £54.99
It’s Rod Stewart who will share Donny’s second place, with his general admissions tickets for his Las Vegas residency, which costs the exact same on average.
4. Maroon 5
Average Ticket Price for General Admissions: $73.00 | £57.35
And the third most affordable Las Vegas residency is Maroon 5’s, with the average cost of a general admission ticket being £57.35.
The Most Affordable Las Vegas Residencies (VIP)
1. Rod Stewart
Average Ticket Price for VIP: $129.10 | £101.39
As for the VIP ticket prices for Las Vegas residencies, Rod Stewart has the most affordable pricing here. On average, his VIP tickets cost £101.39, only double some of the more affordable general admission tickets.
2. Donny Osmond
Average Ticket Price for VIP: $142.00 | £111.53
Donny Osmond, American singer and former teen idol, takes second place for most affordable VIP tickets in Las Vegas. On average his residency tour costs £111.53 for the VIP experience.
3. Miranda Lambert
Average Ticket Price for VIP: $319.00 | £250.54
And the artist with the third-most affordable VIP tickets for Las Vegas residencies this year is Miranda Lambert. On average, her VIP tickets will cost you around £250.54, however, that is more than double the first two artists' prices.
Artists Las Vegas Residency Ticket Prices: General Admission vs VIP
1. Barry Manilow
General admission vs VIP Ticket Price Difference: 809%
Barry Manilow, despite having the cheapest-priced tickets for general admission, ranks highest for the difference in price between VIP and general admission. As previously stated, his general admission tickets cost just £43.20 on average, but his VIP tickets cost more than 800% more.
2. Keith Urban
General admission vs VIP Ticket Price Difference: 565%
Keith Urban, the New Zealand-born Australian-American country singer, has the second-largest difference in his general admission and VIP ticket prices. On average, a general admission ticket for his Las Vegas residency costs £62.06, with his VIP ticket costing £412.33, almost 600% more expensive.
3. Maroon 5
General admission vs VIP Ticket Price Difference: 459%
Maroon 5 also had one of the lowest general admission ticket prices for their Las Vegas residency, at just £57.35. However, their VIP tickets cost 459% more, at an average price of £320.44.
Methodology
To start with, we built two seed lists, one for the tours and another for the Las Vegas residencies. For the former we used Pitchfork and for the latter we used Vegas.com, these showed us the artists with upcoming tours in 2023. Any artists in these lists that were omitted were due to a lack of data or their tour date tickets being sold out.
For ticket prices we used Ticketmaster, filtering tickets to “standard tickets/general admissions/general admissions standing” or, where available, using the venue ticket map to select general admission tickets. We then took the price for each venue, limiting it to 10 venues per country. We then calculated the average cost of their general admission tickets to work out the difference between their highest and lowest prices, to see which artist is most consistently priced.
We also grouped these prices up by country and then calculated the average cost for each country, to determine which one is the most and least affordable to see such music tours. For this section, we only looked at countries with at least three visiting artists.
For the Las Vegas residencies, using Ticketmaster also, we took five general admission ticket prices and five VIP ticket prices (due to there being less data) and calculated the average cost of each. Using the average cost, we determined who is the most and least affordable among Las Vegas residency artists. We were also able to calculate the price difference between each artist's general admission ticket price and their VIP ticket price.
